Am I a Candidate?

Most people with healthy teeth and gums are great candidates for professional whitening. We'll evaluate your oral health and discuss which whitening option is best for your goals. For more comprehensive cosmetic changes, dental veneers or dental bonding may also be recommended.

Duration & Results

In-office whitening takes 60 to 90 minutes in a single appointment and can brighten teeth by three to eight shades according to the American Dental Association. Take-home kits use custom-fitted trays worn 30 to 60 minutes daily for one to two weeks. Results from professional whitening typically last one to three years depending on diet and oral-care habits. A quick touch-up visit or take-home kit can restore brightness whenever needed.

Is Teeth Whitening Safe?

Yes. Professional teeth whitening has been approved by the American Dental Association as safe since 1989. When supervised by a dental professional, whitening products are carefully applied to protect your gums and enamel. Some patients experience temporary tooth sensitivity that resolves within a few days.

What Should I Avoid After Whitening?

For the first 48 hours after treatment, avoid highly pigmented foods and drinks such as coffee, tea, red wine, and berries. Smoking also stains teeth quickly. Using a straw for dark beverages and maintaining good oral hygiene will help your results last longer.

Can Crowns or Veneers Be Whitened?

No. Whitening treatments only work on natural tooth enamel — crowns, veneers, and fillings will not change colour. If you are planning both whitening and restorative work, we recommend whitening first so your restorations can be colour-matched to your brighter smile.

Cost & Insurance

Professional teeth whitening is an affordable way to dramatically improve your smile. Costs depend on whether you choose in-office whitening, take-home trays, or a combination approach.

  • In-office whitening provides immediate results in a single visit
  • Take-home kits offer a more gradual whitening at a lower cost
  • Whitening is typically considered cosmetic and may not be covered by insurance
  • We offer competitive pricing — call for current rates
